God has called each of us to be God’s children and the gift of being a child of God is faith. Join us this summer as we remember the ABCs of faith and have fun in worship remembering our own childhood and embracing the faith of the children in our midst. Each week after worship we will also have “childhood” treats that all ages will enjoy! Fellowship after worship will include such treats as popsicles, lemonade, and watermelon!

This Week’s Study

Monday- August 3rd

  • Read Ephesians 4:1
  • Paul invites his readers to live lives worthy of the calling of Christ.
  • Callings are lived out one day at a time.
  • Each day God has a calling for us.
  • Take a moment to be silent and ask God to what God is calling you to do today.
  • Commit yourself to God’s calling on your day.

Tuesday- August 4th

  • Read Ephesians 4:2-3
  • Humility, gentleness, patience, and love are what Paul prescribes to bring about unity.
  • What part of your life needs greater unity?
  • In what ways might you practice some of the actions described in these verses to be part of that unity?

Wednesday- August 5th

  • Read Ephesians 4:4-5
  • We are called to ONE God!
  • Yet, sometimes we make life complicated.
  • We created so many gods out of our work and life.
  • Today recommit yourself to following Jesus.

Thursday- August 6th

  • Read Ephesians 4:11
  • God gives gifts to each person in order to build the kingdom of God. 1
  • Some are teachers, preachers, prophets, evangelist, and servants.
  • Which gift do you believe God has given you to build God’s kingdom and
    bring unity?
  • Take a moment today to pray God would use that gift!

Friday- August 7th

  • Read Ephesians 4:15
  • Speaking the truth is hard to do.
  • Each of us has different reactions to the truth.
  • We each know personally how hard it is to hear the truth- especially when it is about our own lives.
  • Paul suggests that speaking the truth in love is a way of growth.
  • Who are the people in your life that speak truth to you?
  • Who are people in your life who have allowed you to speak truth to them?
  • Take a moment to pray for humility to hear the truth and courage to tell the truth.

Many have asked for the quotes on practicing humility from Mother Teresa. If you would like to download this and print it, we have a PDF available: Click here
