FUMC - 110th Anniversary

(See our write up in the Miami Herald - click here - .pdf format.)

On November 12th, 2006 First United Methodist Church celebrated our 110th Anniversary of commitment to God and service to the community. Jesus said, “For where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there among them.” - Matthew 18:20. Certainly, the Lord was with us on this great day where over 300 gathered at a lively worship service and a reception dedicated to commemorate the event. Born in 1896, we are still a church committed to being a light for the very core of our great city. This day, we were happy to welcome Kavin Davis, representing District 3 County Commissioner Audrey Edmonson, who presented a resolution honoring the church on behalf of the Miami-Dade County Board of Commissioners. The City of Miami, also provided a resolution signed by Mayor Manny Diaz, naming Nov. 12, 2006 the First United Methodist Church of Miami celebration day. Thanks be to God!
